In 2014, #ymc Co-Founders and longtime friends Sharon Feldstein (Jonah Hill and Beanie Feldstein’s Mom) and Patsy Noah (Adam Levine’s Mom) were brought together by the White House along with other moms, including Terria Joseph (Alicia Keys’ mom) to do a PSA for the Affordable Care Act. Inspired by the amazing group of women and leaders involved and immediately recognizing the power in the “Your Mom Cares” concept, Sharon & Patsy received permission from the White House to take ownership of the brand and #ymc was born.
A few years later, motivated by the many crises unfolding across the country and in the world, Sharon & Patsy knew it was time to take their passion for helping children to the next level. They went to Moms they’d met through the PSA and White House visit and others in their network and got to work finding a voice and defining a mission.
When we met at age 17 we had no idea it would be the beginning of a lifelong, inseparable friendship. It was Vegas in the early seventies, on a hastily planned trip with our then boyfriends. Our face to face encounter was a complete shock. To say we were very different is an understatement!
Our boyfriends disappeared into the casino, leaving us – an unlikely pair -- to our own devices. Thank god for backgammon! It was the common ground between a plunging leopard negligee and a starched oxford shirt. We played and talked all night.
We later married those boyfriends, had kids and raised them side by side, and their successes have been an insanely improbable, one in a billion happy coincidence. 45 years later we’re still together, still disagreeing, still loving all of our kids and feeling privileged to be in a position to have co-founded YourMomCares #ymc.
